About Veronica “Vicki” Foster
Vicki served with distinction in law enforcement, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police in Charlotte, North Carolina, an achievement reflecting her exceptional leadership, integrity, and dedication to service. Throughout her career, she was known not only for her professionalism and strength but also for her compassion, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
Vicki was a passionate advocate for women in leadership, consistently encouraging and mentoring women within law enforcement and throughout the broader community. She believed deeply in creating pathways for women to rise, lead, and thrive, and she actively supported charitable initiatives that strengthened families, promoted education, and advanced equity. Her service extended far beyond her professional role; she generously gave her time, wisdom, and resources to causes that empowered young people and expanded opportunities for underserved communities.
She brought that same passion and purpose to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As a devoted member, Vicki exemplified the organization’s commitment to service, scholarship, and sisterhood. She actively supported initiatives that uplifted families, mentored young women, and strengthened the Charlotte community. At the time of her passing, on July, 25, 2025, Vicki served on the Board of Directors of Queen City Ivy and Pearls Foundation as the Member-At-Large, and she was instrumental in the planning of our inaugural golf tournament, offering her guidance and leadership.
We are honored to have obtained permission from her family to rename the tournament in her honor.
