Pearls of Culture

Pearls of Culture is a two-year monthly mentoring program for young women beginning in the 10th grade. Developed by the Queen City Ivy & Pearls Foundation, the program pairs rising sophomores with accomplished female adult mentors providing the guidance, structure, and exposure to help them discover who they are and who they are becoming.

The Experience 

Mentees are matched based on shared interests, personality, and goals. That relationship is the heart of the program, supported by group workshops and immersive experiences spanning career exploration, cultural enrichment, wellness, and community service.

Who We’re Looking For?

We're looking for rising 10th graders who are curious, committed, and open to being challenged. Must be a resident of Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Union, Lincoln, York/Union, SC counties. There is a nominal participation fee; limited financial assistance is available.

Apply by May 22, 2026

Selected mentees will be notified by June 30, 2026. Programming begins September 2026.
